When I was a child...

What is your story?

I SURE WAS LONELY.
I SURE WAS MEAN.
I DEFINITELY HAD A HARD TIME READING.
I SAW MY BROTHER DO A HANDSTAND, ON A SKATEBOARD, GOING DOWN A STEEP HILL.
I LOST MY GRANDPA.
I LEARNED TO SWIM.
I HAD SURGERY.
I THOUGHT I WAS DUMB.
I WANTED A TRUE FRIEND, OR EVEN A FAKE ONE.

What could you say? Those are not all true of me, but some of them are true of me.
What would your life story say?

Chapter 1:
Born with humble means, parents just getting by in finances, yet they had a strong Faith in Gods provision.

Chapter 2:
School and I did well, I found I was smart in Science and Math.

Chapter 3:
Going to college, brought great satisfaction and awareness of self.

Chapter4:
Marriage, Children, Divorce, and finding a Mentor for my problems/issues.

Chapter 5:
Learning intellect is only one form of knowledge, finding my parents after 20 years of separation. Finding my roots are where they are for a reason, and that God is faithful after all.

Chapter 6:
????

This could be you, me or XYZ.  What about you, what are you finding out about  yourself, your family, and your values?

I found my value is in my God.  IMAGO DEI

 WIKI:
The primary source and documentation for this concept of the essential nature of human beings is found in Genesis 1:26,27.
The term refers most fundamentally to two things: first, to God's own self-expression through humankind; and second, to God's love for humankind (John 3:16,17). To assert that humans are created in the image of God is to recognize the special qualities of human nature which allow God to be made manifest in humans. For humans to have a conscious recognition of having been made in the image of God means that they are aware of being that part of the creation through whom God's plans and purposes best can be expressed and actualized; humans, in this way, can interact creatively with the rest of creation. The moral implications of the doctrine of Imago Dei are apparent in the fact that, if humans are to love God, then humans must love other humans whom God has created (cf. John 13:35), as each is an expression of God. The human likeness to God can also be understood by contrasting it with that which does not image God.

WOW! That's some pretty important information. Is that what you believe?
I do, and I do because God said it, and He is not a man, so He can't lie.
Numbers 23:19.

WE messed up the truth. According to how we see. Like:

- Slavery, then and now
- Abortion
- Racism
- Ad infinitum...

Since we as humans see with human eyes/ hearts/ emotions. We need a God who see's all and loves all. He judges perfectly and justly. He says '...Vengeance is mine, I will repay..'
Romans 12:19-21

When you were little, and a terrible thing happen, or a good thing, God was there and was with you in Spirit. He wanted you to know He was there, but often we are not taught this Truth.  We get hurt, proud, selfish and then believe God isn't near.  I know it might be the hardest thing to hear, but God knows and cares.
He can and will heal broken people and situations.   Life isn't like in a movie, all predictable, that's not Gods way.

His way:Unpredictable and full of Surprises, I think this is to show God and His love. Not Man and his selfishness.

When I was little...
1 Cor 13: 4-8, 11-13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails...
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.  For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

We come to Him, like children. Just ask Him.

" Dear God,
I know I am not loving You like you want. I ask that You forgive me and help me to move forward.  I repent of all the things that have separated me from You.  Dear Lord, I ask that you show me Your love. I ask that you take my sins away, Jesus I believe You are God and You died for my sins.  I want to be near You God, and separated no more. Thank you for Jesus, I need you God to direct my path.
In Jesus name amen.'

If you did pray, believe Jesus is God I want to let you know, that God can keep you now for the rest of your life.  Write me and we can talk.  God Bless you!

You're listening to God's Wrath: "Vengeance Is Mine, I Will Repay," Says the Lord

Is your Power out?

Just heard a few hours ago that the power is out in ALL of San Diego, CA all the way to Yuma, Arizona  and as far north as Riverside, CA.

On a hot September day, this is really hard, but please do not leave your home, unless its an emergency.

I am aware of people going to the hospitals for 'cool air'.

Please stay home, and try to get outside for cool air.  It will not be just you at the hospital, it is you and hundreds more doing the same.  I know the heat is difficult, but here are some tips:
1. stay wet, take a cool shower not warm.
2. drink water
3. keep your feet wet and your head
4. fill your bathtub ( providing you have one) with cold water and keep your body cool.
5. sleep outside if safe to do so
6. open the windows and let the cool night air come in.

I realize some of you won't be able to read this, but maybe you can text your friends in the 'outage areas'. It is pretty overwhelming to be hot, and in the dark.

They won't know why its happening, but God is with them.  I read it's by a 'mistake' by an employee in AZ.  If its true thats fine, but no matter why, its dark and you need to stay cool.

The sizing up of our 'comfort' is in our hearts.  Call out to God and He will hear you.  He will comfort you and teach you how to rest in Him.

As a mentor in 'life' I hold fast to Jesus and have found 'fear' to be the emotion/ feeling you want to eliminate.  The only way to do so is to replace the fear with Faith in God.  His Power. His Love. His Peace.

I am praying for you to find Gods comfort, daily.
I serve a Big God.
I, I am the Lord, besides me there is no Savior.
Isaiah 43:11

Just think, Besides Jehovah God there IS NOT anyone/anything. No one can come close to God.
I am praying for you all, God will carry the prayers to you.

Fun Stuff, This Mentoring...

"What in the world is THAT?!"
"Its my " Mentor Mobile", I drive it around town looking for mentor."

"What is Mentor?"
" It's the thing you use when you brush your teeth, Its cool"
" Silly, that's not Mentor, its MENTHOL !!"

"Oh, it is?"

Funny days, ahead, remember to keep your laughter on.
This is For  Real ! 2011

What can I say about laughter that you might not know....

Well, did you know it 'massages your lymphatic fluid' and helps it to flush out bad stuff, so It's GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH.
Did you know, it can change the serotonin in you and make you feel happy instead of blue.
Did you know you can laugh, just for the "practice/health" benefits? SEE Video below.
Did you know its ok to laugh in the midst of a serious event in life?, ( I am not saying be hurtful or having a lack of compassion, just if something is funny).

What else, did you know laughter can be used for harm?( sarcasm, anger -- might be hidden in laughter).
As my laughter mentor told me, I can laugh at 'painful, hurtful, angry words' and it actually lessens the 'hurtful effect'. Hebrews 13:15

I found this also to be disarming for the person who wanted to "hurt you".  It was quite an effective weapon. What you are saying, in effect is: " I won't be hurt by you, unless I want to be".  You will not control how I feel, I get to decide how I respond. I choose to laugh instead of hurt by 'hurtful words'.

Wow, isn't that great!  Can you believe it, if your boss, or classmate, or boyfriend says something that is 'hurtful' you can respond with laughter ( even if its in your heart,  you still are smiling and laughing).

What about if  you get fired, or layed off? Could you laugh?

I know it might seem like the FARTHEST thing from your mind,  yet isn't that often what we need to remember?   This too shall pass, look around.  How many people were propelled into a BETTER life, because of a seemingly 'terrible' thing.

If you know of one, you are on the road, I could mention quite a few.  Some known to me personally, some because of a book or a movie I saw.

Did you know God invented Laughter, and He has a wonderful sense of humor.  Who else would make a 'donkey talk', or place a 'coin in a fishes mouth'.
Numbers 22, Matthew 17.

Funny Stuff, and remember laughter is ours. No one can take it away.

I think this laughter is really a balm for wounds, and I am so happy it is good for us. God thinks of it all!   Ecc. 7:3

Did you know we are the only Creations that can laugh on demand? Listen to Video again.  Cheesy, but... did it make you laugh?

Mentoring in pain

Pain is so.... hard.  I am learning slowly how to get my mind around it, and learn from it.  I used-to run from pain, and then miss the WHOLE lesson.  It's kind of like being afraid of water: If I do not get used to it, face my fears, I will succomb to the fear itself, and never learn to swim or relax in the water.  We all have something that makes us want to run away or fight, but this won't help us learn. Plus, its not really productive.

If I had a teacher, mentor or friend talk me through my fear, I might be able to see how this crisis will: help me eventually, build character, draw me closer to Gods love, help me see the 'log in my eye' better...
If I could say one thing: do not run away ( or emotionally drop out of the challenge ), do not give into self pity, do not become angry.  These things might run through your mind, but if you can FIRST: Breathe and sing a song or laugh you will find yourself becoming less panicked.

Practice this, it is a suggestion and will help you focus on something good while your emotions settle down.  I am still practicing it, after years of knowing, but not doing.  Life will help you learn, and re-learn, just learn to laugh at 'fear' initially.

Think of this: A dog comes around the corner, is 20 feet away, is growling furiously and barking. His hair is on end and he has every intention of hurting you.  You do not see this, as you are laughing at a joke just told by a friend and you do not hear or see the dog.  A second later the dog owner comes over and pets the dog and speaks words of calming to him.  You then turn and see a calm dog sitting near his owner, and think 'what a nice dog'.  Your laughter: #1 kept you from Hearing the dog and his intimidation. #2 kept your mind on something good and pleasant. #3 held your focus until the 'crisis' was past.

This is what I mean by being a mentor.  I think often times in word pictures, sometimes my words are clear and you understand, but I know for me a word picture sends a larger idea, and I can use it in MANY situations.

Like the dog, you may face a dog, a man, a boy with a stick, a snake, a  boss you need to speak to about a raise... the list is endless.  Yet if you can learn the 'skill', the lesson can be transferred to each event.

This could be like College, yet with Mentoring

One, Two, Three lets Go ! This is a start, a middle and the end of one era, to begin another.

I am surely not done learning, and sure wish I had a mentor.  If you came here to get something to hold on to, to think about, I am glad you came.

If you came here for a chuckle, or to vent, I will let you, if you are respectful.   This will be an open forum, but not for abuse or disrespect.

Could we agree on this, and go forth and learn together. ? I hope so, I sure am on the path to learning more and more as I get older.

I hope to pass on a few nuggets I have learned- the HARD way, I seem to learn better if emotional pain is around the corner.  I hope you can learn from me WHY this is Not the way to go in life. ( We don't get a second chance at LIFE, we have one life to live...), therefore a mentor, a navigator, a hand holder.

What about YOU, I have began this for YOU.  Tell me what is pressing on your life, I can pray, maybe I can advise, but I can listen. I know you might be from "anywhere, IN THE WORLD", but if you are here, we are 'together'.  Its funny how technology works, and joins us together.

If you ask, wonder, I will share, then the more we all learn, I will surely learn from you too. I have been a slow learner, slow starter, but I am not letting that hold me back.

I do pray we all learn and grow together and grow stronger.

D'assistance
I have learned so much from raising my children, much about me, and Faith. I have five children and I love them all, and I am so pleased they are living their dreams out. I wouldn't trade my life for anything. The Food Supplement I take, and share is such an important part of my wellness, I thank God for THIS answered prayer! The truth is: God wants us whole and well. The problems we face are a way God uses to get our attention. I am a deciple. John 11:40
